Silvia Saenz Montenegro has several years of work experience in the areas of customer service, sales, and credit. Silvia’s work ethic and professionalism have allowed her to work as a team leader, supervisor, and manager. Silvia decided to go back to school after many years. She applied to the University of New Mexico in Fall 2015 for the Master’s program in Organization, Information and Learning Sciences (OILS) and graduated in Spring 2017. Her Master’s degree in OILS has provided her with the skills needed as a designer, developer, supporter, and evaluator of adult learning instruction in online and hybrid settings. She believes it is important to understand how to employ distance learning in the workplace effectively. In recent years, she has also had the opportunity to work as a professional researcher. Specifically, she has publications as co-author with Dr. Agustin Leon-Moreta such as Coordinating Conservation Programs in the Albuquerque-Bernalillo Region, a case study that received a national award from The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. She has also written essays published in PA Times, the newsletter of the American Society for Public Administration. Silvia is from Quito, Ecuador, and her native language is Spanish. She is married, her husband is her primary support, and she has two wonderful sons that make her proud with their achievements.
